The primary function of our department is to offer sound investment advice and "Wealth Management" type services in line
with the clients' risk profile and their specific needs. We have developed expertise in the entire spectrum of financial instruments.
|
|
Our Wealth Management executives’ primary role is to offer wise asset allocation advice to clients in line with their individual risk profile, current and future needs. Their diverse expertises enable them to give portfolio recommendations selecting from variety of asset classes not limited to equities and government bond.
Clients can entrust us with drafting their wealth portfolio strategy for we diligently look into asset allocation opportunities that have the potential for returns while safeguarding wealth. Our wealth management executives spend time with clients, understanding their needs, helping them take advantage of any opportunities that may arise, or safeguarding them from any potential downside.
Wealth Management Executives:
• Analyse clients' risk profile, current state of their portfolio, and future needs or cash flow requirements and suggest improvements.
• Perform alternative investment opportunities analysis which could suit the client's profile for partial allocation.
• Develop asset allocation proposals for investing in five major asset classes (equities, fixed income instruments, alternative investments, property and cash) in local and international markets.
• Prepare short portfolio reports, including snapshot of chosen investment strategy and portfolio performance indicators.
• Monitor constantly client portfolios , employing number of risk management techniques.
Our wealth management executives are chosen to meet rigorous selection criteria. They combine strong academic credentials with field expertise in local and international markets and find support in our Investment Committee which meets regularly to set investment decision guidelines. Clients should see in them more than an asset allocation advisor but also a confidant who is ready within legal limits to protect and grow their wealth.
|
|
|
Moreover, they are aided by our Investment Committee which meets regularly to set firm guidelines regarding investment decisions (for example, it decides on an asset allocation between different classes).
In order to accomplish this task the Investment Committee uses world-class research provided by a number of reliable
sources. In particular, it is supported by the SLSFS Research Department, which is one of the oldest and most respected
research teams on the island. At the same time, the Company's Risk Management Unit works diligently to ensure that
any advice given to an investor is always in line with the pre-specified risk profile, investment horizon, liquidity
requirements and the general guidelines, as agreed upon with the client. Furthermore, it uses its best endeavours to ensure that
all performance targets are being met.

In particular, the active client advisory service provides services on the following areas of investment:
|
|
Securities: Our wealth management executives can advice clients who desire to expose part of their portfolio to wide range of financial instruments traded in securities markets around the world. These include equities, fixed income, convertible bonds, equity-linked notes, exchange-traded warrants and options.
Foreign Exchange: Clients can also receive advice on FX transactions including but not limited to cash flow conversion arising from international multicurrency business, hedging of future multicurrency transactions, or re-balancing of investment portfolio which may include exposure to currency baskets.
Structured Products: These products expose investors to various asset classes through derivative based pre-packaged investment strategy. Structured products may offer capital protection and in rare cases minimum guaranteed return.
Mutual Funds: Today, a large variety of mutual funds are available to investors internationally. These can be denominated in any major currency and can have diverse risk characteristics. We note for example equity funds, fixed income funds, money market funds.
The popularity of mutual funds stems from the fact that they can offer a single investor who has very little capital the benefits of diversification. However, at the same time, investing in a mutual fund can be a risky and time-consuming task for the uninformed investor, who must strive to understand the track record and area of specialisation of each fund considered for investment. Sharelink investment advisors, having developed in-depth knowledge on mutual funds around the world, are thus in a position to help potential investors by offering solid advice on which funds are the most appropriate for their needs.
Unique Solutions: Clients’ needs are becoming more and more complex as the instruments available become more sophisticated. With this in mind, Sharelink is able to create tailor-made solutions for its clients, often in co-operation with reputable international financial institutions.
